Common description

Paxos is the smallest of the seven main Ionian islands. In fact, in Greece under the name Paxos they mean a complex of islands, the largest of which is Paxos, and the smaller, nearby island, known for wines and sandy beaches - Antipaxos.

The island is approximately 13 km away. in length. The west coast is steep white, chalky cliffs that are quite badly destroyed by the sea. Most of the island is covered with olive groves. They extend from Lakka, a public harbor in the north, through Mangazeya to Gayos (the island's capital).

The main industry of the island is tourism. The island is connected by ferry service to the mainland and other islands.
