When the work of the artist Salvador Dali was already highly regarded in the world of art, in 1961 he entered into a special agreement with the authorities of Figueiros, and as a result of this, the museum of the artist was opened in the city in 1974. Salvador Dali chose the place for the museum himself, he decided to exhibit a collection of paintings in the building of the old city theater, built in 1850 according to the project of the architect Joseph Rock in the neoclassical style.
