Ajman

Common description

Ajman is the smallest of all emirates, located a 30-minute drive from Dubai Airport. And let there be no oil reserves - this city found its way and became famous. Like most cities in the northern emirates, Ajman is built on the shore of the bay, extending deep into the coast in the shape of the letter "U".
Ajman was once widely known as a center for pearl mining and boat building. And if the pearl trade is no longer the basis of its economy, then the Ajman Shipyard is famous throughout the country for the manufacture of single-masted Arab dow ships. These light, but durable ships are made from teak imported from India, using centuries-old technologies using equally ancient traditional structures and tools. In the early 90s, fiberglass boats and motor boats, also produced in Ajman, began to be popular. The shipyard is so famous that customers come from other Arab countries to order vessels intended for fishing and boat trips. Numerous tourists who come to rest in the UAE are very fond of riding the Dhow.
Among the tourist attractions are a square watchtower and a huge fort in the city center. The fort has opened the National Historical Museum, next to it is the old palace of the Sheikh. Ajman is also famous for its mineral springs that supply all countries of the Persian Gulf with drinking water. The best vacation in Ajman will be found for those who are already tired of the noise of the city, and want to socialize with nature in silence, enjoy the leisurely flow of life, reminiscent of this country many centuries ago. Well, for lovers of exotic - the famous camel racing, held in the deserts of this emirate
