Among the mountain ranges of the Sierra Nevada, thanks to the melting of glaciers, the Tahoe Mountain Lake was formed. The lake is 35 km long, 19 km wide, and its depth is about 500 meters, making it the second deepest in America.

There are a number of alpine ski resorts and lounges around the lake.
