Common description

This picturesque tropical island off the south coast of Thailand has avoided a massive influx of tourists. There are no skyscraper hotels here: local law forbids the construction of buildings that would be higher than coconut trees.

Mysterious caves, mangroves, beaches with fine white sand, mountains covered with pristine forests await the traveler. Coral reefs surrounding the island - a paradise for scuba divers. The waters of the Andaman Sea off the coast of Lanta have been declared a marine reserve.

Lanta Resort is located 70 kilometers south of the city and Krabi Airport. You can get to the island by ferry.

Entertainment
- Visit to an orchid farm
- Descent into the cave of Mai Kaeo. This amazingly beautiful underground labyrinth was discovered only recently, when a forest fire exposed the entrance to the caves, previously hidden by forest thickets.
- A trip to the village of "sea gypsies". These colorful villages with houses on stilts are scattered along the coast of Lanta. In the days of sailing ships, "sea gypsies" were famous for their pirate people who lived by plundering ships in the Andaman Sea. Now their main occupation is fishing. In the "gypsy" matriarchy, women go to sea in traditional native boats along with men.
- Thai boxing competitions. One of the oldest forms of martial arts, originated several thousand years ago. The fights that take place on Lante once a week are a favorite spectacle of the locals.
- Elephant riding is one of the most popular tourist attractions in southern Thailand. A huge number of elephants used to work in logging. Now they have been replaced by cars, and the remaining elephants are used to entertain tourists.
