Common description
Less than seven kilometers from the coast of Rayong province in the east of the Gulf of Thailand, Samet is located, a small island that ideally combines all the delights of a "tropical paradise" with its relative proximity to Bangkok and Pattaya.
Thanks to the status of the National Park, the island has developed into a resort, so beloved by both Thais and foreign tourists. More than a dozen quiet bays and white beaches offer a wide selection of accommodation. From campsites spreading on the territory adjacent to the sea, to bungalows with all modern facilities, communications and a high level of service.
The rainy season here is limited to the period from May to July. But at the same time, Samet Island has significantly less rainfall than Rayong Province, despite the fact that the island is only a few kilometers away.
The beaches in the northeast of Samet are better developed and more crowded. If you move south on the island, beaches and bays become less extended, but this does not lose their beauty. The beaches in the southeast are the wildest and least developed. The western coast of Samet Island is steep and rocky, but it has one very nice Ao Phrao beach, with the best hotel on the island and breathtaking evening sunset views.
Samet and the nearby miniature islands are surrounded by coral formations located at shallow depths, which is ideal for diving and snorkeling. Other water sports you can enjoy on the island include yachting, windsurfing, water skiing and exciting sea fishing.
Separated from each other, emerald coves with their shiny white sand, which creaks under your feet like freshly fallen snow, are Samet's hallmark for attracting tourists. While the hills covered with dense tropical vegetation located in the jungle inside the island attract exotic animals. Samet Island has become home to monkeys, a large number of species of tropical birds, squirrels and even wild snakes.
The best samples of corals are located near the acute southern tip of the island, as well as next to Vong Duang beach on the east coast, one of the most beautiful and popular Samet beaches. There is a diving center on the beach offering diving in these attractive places.
Samet Island was included in Khao Laem Ya National Park in 1981, which helped protect the pristine pristine cleanliness of this tropical resort. The tropical flora and fauna feel safe here, this allows them to live in harmony and good neighborly relations with humans.
There are no paved roads on Samet. But this does not matter, the whole island can be walked around in 2-3 hours. You can also rent a moped or motorcycle to explore the island, or you can make an exciting trip around Samet by speed boat.
Samet Island is an ideal place for those who just want to relax and forget for a while about the existence of the rest of the world.
