Common description

The ancient city of Hoi An is located on the banks of the Tho Bon River, 30 km south of Danang, in Quang Nam province. Liked by the first Western merchants, Hoi An was one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia in the sixteenth century. Nowadays, the city is occupied mainly by tourists.
The city is clearly dominated by Chinese atmosphere with one-story buildings under tiled roofs and narrow streets, the originality of some buildings is completely preserved intact.
All the houses are made of rare wood and are decorated with lacquered linings and panels with carved Chinese characters. The columns are also covered with threaded ornaments. Nearby are the significant ruins of Sha Guin and Tiampa cultures. Hoi An is a Vietnamese Ravenna. In Hoi An, you can see the Japanese Covered Bridge of the sixteenth century, the black and gold houses of Chinese trading guilds and the streets reminiscent of the European Mediterranean. Now Hoi An is a huge market that trades late in fabrics, porcelain and silk. From Hoi An, you can go on an excursion to Mi Son, a Vietnamese Angkor built in the 4th - 8th centuries AD, the sanctuary of the Chiam people. We are the Dream - standing tall in the midst of the jungle, large towers of red brick, adorned with sculptures of apsar, gods and demons.
